BLOCK WEEK - Day 1 - Thanksgiving Wreath
The Purpose
Thanksgiving is coming this weekend and so the classroom had a wreath and leaves to write what they are thankful for and display outside the room!

The purpose of this activity is for children to think about the upcoming holiday and its purpose

As well as connecting it to religion and how God has given us many things to be thankful for

The experience:

As a class, we brainstormed together on the smart board different discussions and answers so that children understand the goal of the task

Children fed off of each other through the brainstorming process to understand the task and purpose of the thanksgiving holiday!

After the group discussion is over, the children broke off individually to seek help from my teacher and I in writing their responses. The JKs also needed assistance in writing a full word (having an outline to trace)

After the writing the children coloured the leaves and I got help from the students to attach and lay out the leaves around the wreath!
