BLOCK WEEK- DAY 4- Name Writing
(TO ATTACH TO NATURE BAGS)

Purpose: Name Writing (for nature bags)
-
The children are going to write their names on separate pieces of construction paper that are shaped like feathers so that we can tape them all together onto the bag so the children can each take them home for thanksgiving
-
This is important for the children to practice writing and seeing their names, the way they are spelt
-
This is providing a continuation to their bag activity as well as a constant practice and learning of being exposed to their letters and names.
The Experience:
-
This experience will happen during play and inquiry as children are working, my teacher and I are going to call up students so that we can work together in spelling and writing their names on their feather pieces.
-
This activity is a great opportunity to work together with the children and really observe where they are at with writing and spelling, noting how they were the first couple weeks of school and how much they may have improved now
-
Materials: several cut pieces of different colored construction paper, cut into feather shapes, cards with children’s names on them for reference and marker
-
Children will practice using reference card (if needed) to spell name and work together with the educators to prepare their name
