BLOCK WEEK-DAY 3- Nature walk
Purpose: Nature Walk
Since the children begun to pick up the fallen leaves that had blown into the playground, and since I asked them if they would like to do a nature walk, I thought that proceeding with that idea would intrigue the students.
In addition, the students can use their individual bags that they decorated to collect their leaves.
After I noticed the children picking up the leaves, I went to talk to a few of them about what they were doing, and asked them if they would like to go as a class on a walk to get leaves and they were very interested about the idea and so that gave me the idea for the nature walk and then have them decorate and collect leaves on their own, in their own bags.

The Experience:
-
This experience will take place outside during outside play time.
-
Children will bring out their bags as well as a clipboard with a scavenger hunt sheet. This sheet will have pictures of some objects and things that they may see during their nature walk and so the children will have to check off what they saw during their time outside.
-
Children will also be collecting different size, colour, and types of leaves
-
Materials include: decorated paper bags (one for each child), clipboards(one for each child), copies of the scavenger hunt sheet, and pencils
-
This activity went really well!! I was excited and wanted to implement this activity for a long while and so I was excited to see how it would turn out
-
The children were excited and enthusiastic to go outside. They were asking questions about the leaves and their surroundings
-
They also paid close attention to their instructions
-
The scavenger hunt sheet worked well as well because they had a guide to keep them on track of what they are supposed to be doing
-
-
For next time, I would maybe wait a little longer for more leaves to have fallen later in the fall, or gone to a park with more variety of leaves if possible.
-
As for adaptations, there were just the simple boundary lines that I set for the children on how far out they could go to collect their leaves
-
To extend this activity we could set up a sorting chart with the class to sort leaf colours!
