Time is an important measure when it comes to children and completing a lengthy task. It is important for teachers and students to have time for their learning when it comes to topics that they are interested in or big topics that children are exploring.
It is okay for topics that children are showing interest in, to last several days. Spread out those activities and bring that topic into different areas of the classroom! If the children are interested they are doing their best kind of learning. This also brings positivity into the classroom and a frame o find that teaches children that what they want to learn is important and valued.
Spending time on topics also requires many details to be visited and discussed. This will leave a good imprint on the child's memory of this information as well as lead to new discoveries around the same topic, the opposite of the topic being discussed or children showing ways without being told, about what they have learned. Naturally, the children will talk, explore, show and create based on topics they love and they WANT to learn about.
This makes learning FUN!
